Luv Shmuv

Realization of the day/week/month/year/life: There is no such thing as unconditional love.

I can not love you unconditionally.

I can love you only under the condition that you will love me back the same way.

There, I said it.

Zindigi daira hai....:)Everything starts and ends at "ME" or "I". Nature of a human being to be selfish, especially in love.

aftab: as much as i hate to admit being a victim of the same phenomenon... i hafto say, true dat! (: hehe

henmen: i'm glad people are agreeing with me... mostly the human heart refuses to acknowledge that its love is influenced by 'conditional' factors if u can call it that... perfect imperfection of the LOU situation (:

You've got it basically right, but I think its not the ability to love that is conditional, its the ability to make it work that is.
Refference the post on my blog about loving someone you don't want to be with... really, hon, is that a conditional love?
Your mind, your ability to think logically to, plan to strive for a brighter future places the conditions on your ability/willingness/desire to spend your life with a particular person. Failing which you choose to let go, but do you choose to stop loving?

Love isn't a choice. Its a compulsion and compulsions are, by default, unconditional.
